- My mother worked at the "Winchesters" factory in New Haven, CT. She worked on a piece of machinery where she had to wear rubber gloves. Her hand got caught in the machine and as Mom said, "Blood was everywhere." Her right hand index finger was severely damaged and was deformed. The nerves were forever damaged.
