- My father, John Trullinger, was a logger. a timber faller. He worked in the woods near Molalla OR. He was part of the Aircraft Warning Service. We called it "Skywatch". My mother, Ruth, My Grandmother, Anna Sanden and I accompanied him of Skywatch. At first we were in a tent in the Cascade foothills. Later a tower was built for Skywatch. When we heard a place someone would check it with binoculars and then telephone it in. I was 5 & 6 years old at the time 1942-1943. We also saved foil, metal and grease. Being farmers we always grew a garden. I also had an aunt by marriage that spliced rope during the war. I remember the rationing, blackouts, and such.
