- McKesson - Bridgeport, CT - making toothpaste and soap for military. 1944-45 - Westinghouse - Line inspector for war products Sarah Kathryn (Pyers) Griffin passed away peacefully on December 17, 2023 at the age of 97. On July 10, 1926, Kathryn was born to the late William and Florence Pyers in Sunbury, Pennsylvania. She was married for forty-nine years to the late Curtis Griffin. Mrs. Griffin was a member of the graduating class of 1944 from Sunbury High School. During World War II she worked at Westinghouse, she also helped as a census taker and retired as an operator with an answering service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Sunbury; Auxiliary of the United Transportation Union; Sunbury Senior Action Center; and the American Rosie the Riveter Association. Mrs. Griffin enjoyed cross-stitching, attending sporting events/activities of her family and reading books. She loved her family, baking cookies and the Christmas holiday. Mrs. Griffin is survived by her daughter Linda Ragusa of Huntsville, AL and son Curtis Griffin (Cindy) of Conshohocken, PA. She has seven grandchildren: Robin Evans (Stephen), Michelle Goode (Ben), Jackie Kelley (Mark), Jonathan Griffin, Kaylie Griffin, Hannah Griffin and Curtis John Griffin Jr. Mrs. Griffin is also survived by twelve great grandchildren: Spencer Evans, Erin Barinaga (Sampley), Owen Evans, John Evans, Hayden Goode, Ally Goode, Caleb Goode, Joshua Goode, Griffin Kelley, Dylan Kelley, Adeline Kelley and Milo Griffin. Also surviving are three nephews and two nieces. She was proceeded in death by two brothers Calvin Pyers and Boyd Pyers. The family would like to thank the staff at Sunrise of Lafayette Hill and All American Hospice for the kind and loving care provided for Mrs. Griffin in her final days.
