Before the term was up, Louis decided to go to Wichita, Ks., to learn sheet metal work to acquire work in the airplane factories. At the end of the school year, Marjorie joined Louis in Wichita. When jobs became scarce, they moved to Kansas City and Louis was hired at the North American Bomber Plant where Marjorie later acquired a job as a riveter on bomb bay doors of the B-25 plane.
