- Later in life, Marge received overdue recognition for her contributions to the war effort as a genuine Rosie the Riveter during WW II. Marge started at Ford's Willow Run Bomber Plant when aircraft #33 was rolling down the line, and she was one of the last employees on the floor when the plant shut its doors at war's end, having worked on the construction of thousands of B-24 Liberator aircraft. Until recently, Marge participated in activities of the American Rosie the Riveter Association. She was often interviewed as a local spokesperson for the Rosie's and once was featured in a television documentary. Marge took pride in her service to her country during the war and her achievements as a Rosie that modeled successful and important contributions of women in the workforce.
