A WWII Rosie the Riveter inspires teens in Washington State!
Washington Women in Trades was delighted to present the first ever Steel Toe Teens Summer Camp in July of 2023. Serving middle school girls, ages 11-14, the camp offered sessions taught by journey-level instructors in sheet metal, electricity, carpentry, pipe trades and masonry. Each camper created a take home project from each trade. A giant highlight was a special appearance by Centralia, WA Rosie the Riveter, Doris Bier, who did a presentation and signed vintage Rosie calendars from her year, 2014.
