Purpose of the American Rosie the Riveter Association (ARRA): To recognize and preserve the history and legacy of working women, including volunteer women, during World War II; to promote cooperation and fellowship among such members and their descendants; and to further the advancement of patriotic ideals, excellence in the workplace, and loyalty to the United States of America.
Membership in the American Rosie the Riveter Association ARRA (ah-rah)
Qualifications for membership as a Rosie: Any woman who was employed in an industry or agency that was directly related to the war effort OR who was employed in a capacity usually held by a man, thus releasing a man for military duty. This includes self-employment, such as farming, or running the family business while the men were at war, and women in WWII military service. (Work usually done by a woman, not related to the war, does not count.)

Qualifications for membership as a Rosie Volunteer: Any woman or girl who participated on a sustained basis in one or more volunteer activities related to the war effort (examples: collecting critical materials, growing a Victory Garden, Civil Defense volunteer, working for the Red Cross or USO).

Please note that if you are joining your living WWII Rosie or WWII Rosie Volunteer as a Member, or are joining her posthumously to be recorded in our Deceased Rosie Registry, that your application is for her only. To become a Member yourself, and we joyfully recommend you do, please join yourself separately in the appropriate membership category. Your membership entitles you to our quarterly newsletter detailing ARRA doings across the country, email notifications, and an invitation to our ARRA Annual National Convention!
Qualifications for membership as a Rosebud: Any female who is the direct descendant of a Rosie or a Volunteer Rosie.
$20 Lifetime Membership
Qualifications for membership as a Rivet (Auxiliary Member): Any male who is the direct descendant or spouse of a Rosie, Volunteer Rosie, or Rosebud.

21st Century Rosie: A woman who currently works or has retired in a job that prior to WWII was considered “man’s work”. Examples: plumber, machinist, police officer, politician, pilot, military service.
$30 Lifetime Membership
Friend of Rosies: People who may not be able to establish eligibility through their ancestors may join by pledging support for ARRA’s purpose.

Each lifetime membership includes a membership certificate and the quarterly newsletter. Members are invited to the annual national convention held in a different city each year .
