Eight World War II Rosies attended the Pearl Harbor Remembrance Ceremony on December 7th, 2023. It was a very somber and emotional time, remembering and
honoring the lives lost. The Rosies also participated in a parade, dinners, and a poster signing! In the photo above, the Rosies are being introduced to a group of ROTC students and their families from a local high school. Their presence and participation was organized by our American Rosie the Riveter Association (ARRA) Honolulu Chapter.
The Rosies were especially delighted to be joined in the remembrances by women electricians from IBEW Local 48 in Oregon. The IBEW gals first met our Rosies when we held the ARRA Annual Convention in Portland this past summer in June of 2023.
The Rosie the Riveters of World War II opened the door for women in the trades, and it was wonderful to see the Rosie legacy come full circle!
