Worked as a riveter on bomber aircraft, walking on the wings to do the riveting after the final assembly at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft in San Diego, CA, from 1944-45. She recalls a train trip home on Christmas Day with a train full of soldiers. Her two yr old daughter was the only child on the train, and when the train stopped, the soldiers made a Christmas tree for her.
