During World War II, Rosies supported the Troops by writing letters to support our men and boost morale.  Rosies also helped to supply troops by knitting and sewing much-needed hats, gloves, and vests that were needed immediately when war was declared.

Just like Rosie did before, we are writing letters to our Armed Forces who are deployed, as well as to service members who have just enlisted. Your letters are appreciated and are one of the favorite items for a deployed soldier to receive!

Detailed information for the project is provided below, as we pull together with our Rosie Spirit and Rally ‘Round the Troops!

Everyone Can Write Letters to Troops!

Anytime is a great time to write letters to our deployed troops, new military recruits, veterans, and wounded warriors! And that’s what ARRA’s “Rosies Rally ’Round the Troops” project is all about. Anyone of any age can write a note or draw a picture to brighten the day of one of our service members. ARRA members so far have collected many thousands of letters for troops, so please join us and be a part of it!

Here are some guidelines: Just begin your note with “Dear Hero” and express your thanks for his or her service. Tell about your interests. Rosies, tell about your work during the war. Adults may include an address or email if you like, but it isn’t necessary. Children should only include their first name. Do not put each card in a separate envelope, as this slows down the processing. Avoid politics and religion, but saying that you are praying for them is great.  Above all, say thanks! Put as many cards and letters as you can into an envelope and mail them to our project chairman, Rosebud Linda Wallace, at this address:

We’ll see that they reach the troops through our partnership with a non-profit called Operation Gratitude. For more information and a video about Operation Gratitude’s great efforts, check out their website at https://www.operationgratitude.com/express-yourthanks/write-letters/. Troops tell us that your letters are their favorite items to receive!  Have questions? Contact Linda at (860) 267-9952 or email Lindawallace37@aol.com.
